The first half of my day 2 was work packed. And since I was in mumbai, 2 half an hour meetings meant 3 hours of travel and traffic. So the evening had to be better than anything else. Today my friend Ankit Dand was also in the mood for a film, as we were now town side in Lower Parel. Interestingly, this area is now a fine mix of concrete towers and small hutments all surviving together in the true mumbai way. What i remember of Lower Parel was the dingy guest house which housed me for 2 weeks in 2004 when i had moved to mumbai to work for Zee in their Worli office. That memory of Lower Parel is devoid of these high rise buildings and specially Phoemix mills and the ultra luxurious St.Regis.
So trudging through the snail paced traffic we reached phoenix mills. The mall is where like the rest of mumbai there's a collage of busy people mixed with very little space to sit and relax. So choosing a place to sit down and have a beer became a task. Theres not much that this place offers so we chose a curious sounding "British Brewing Company". It has an entry from the parking lot which suddenly opens to a huge space that houses this place. Yes! this place is huge, and thats a huge win for any restaurant/bar in mumbai.

While the place prides in a great atmosphere and interesting knickknacks the menu is pretty conservative. There is beer on tap and the regular bottles. The tap version was hoegarden and came in a small nondescript tumblerish glass. The beer was regular, and the appetizer was pretty fulfilling as well. The interesting architecture unfortunately could not elevate the feeling a great beer wouldve enthused, so after two rounds, we headed off to see Jumanji and Dwayne Joh
