When you live in South Delhi, you should mark out a couple of places which are reserved as "introductory places" . so when somebody you are out with says "kahan chale?" you can jump and take out this trump card and say 'lemme take you to an awesome new place!" . However the definition of the "introductory place"depends on 2 very important factors
the place should be warm and welcoming and not the regular decor for first impact
the drinks need to be good obviously but the food also has to be interesting, as you might be a beer/cocktail/drink person but your friend might be interested in good food too.
I have been a big fan of "THE PINT ROOM" for a long while and have reserved it as one such place for special nights
so when a close friend wanted a night out of the ordinary i headed her to the Pint Room
About the place is all mentioned in an earlier blog, but this time i focussed on how the interiors have been done. There is ample greenery here to give that airy ness all over. And the place prides in being so green. I was pleasantly surprised when my friend wanted a straw for her LIIT and the waiter announced they follow a "no plastic" policy so they dont have one.
Moving on to the surprise , i always scan the chiller to see what new beers they have.
the curious bottle called "Red Dot" caught my eye
Now the bottle says "Red Dot Weizen" which i understood is wheat and the top label shouts "craft beer -anytime anywhere". So my spidey sense for beers got a huge tingle.
In the first gulp, what mildly sets in is a hint of vanilla mixed with regular average maltiness. Yes this is a wheat beer for the happy. The underlying flavours are a mix of vanilla and cloves, uncommon as they sound, pack a neat taste that goes well with almost everything on their menu.
And although i stay away from my iphone when in a pub with friends, this little beer had invoked a lot of curiosity. (This place placards the old quote "we dont have wi-fi, talk to each other) , and luckily the waiter announced this beer is from australia. So i reserved my research for later.
My research which i did later, had an interesting story to Red Dot. This beer
