"Simba" is a beer that was available only in Goa till now, and the company made ample noise about its availability in the beach city on instagram. Not yet launched in any other part of the country as of now.
Thanks to friends, a crate was sent over for us to sample in Delhi.
While for me free beer is enough of an invite, free beer tasting of a yet to be launched brand is a luxury. And Simba didn't disappoint in any way !

What reached us were 2 flavours , Jungle Stout and Jungle Wheat !!
Lets start with the taste :
Jungle Stout is for the Dark lovers.
For dark beers, the palette generally sets itself to Guiness, so obvious comparisons apart, this beer too has a great roasted aftertaste and also flows in smooth while you take a calculated sip.
The caramel-ebony flavour also hits the tongue hard if you are drinking it cold. Minutes after opening the bottle, and as the temperature shifts a notch down, the taste simmers down a bit to a smoother flow.
The wheat on the other hand is the more researched or worked upon presentation from Simba.
True to most wheat beers, the taste is light and sweetish, but what makes this beer stand out was the coriander and lemongrass infusion in the followup taste. Also the company prides itself to have introduced an orange peel flavour to it. the mix of these 3 elements make this taste memorable and the one that forces you to grab the next one in a happy anticipation of the same feel good taste.
On the packaging
Ever since BIRA hit the market with its monochromatic red, black and white look, the overall beer design industry has grown up. Simba follows a similiar design sensibility and also has its convept revolving around the "roar". Its a good effort and will help the brand too.
